- Middle Schoolers complete yearlong research and writing project using the theme provided by National History Day
- School winners advance to state competition where St. Peter students are among regular winners advancing to the national competition at the University of Maryland.

- 8th Graders who have maintained an "A" average in their core subjects and have demonstrated upstanding character and leadership are eligible for the St. Peter Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society
- Students participate in a service project as part of their involvement in the society

- 8th graders annually research and design a science project, testing their hypothesis, collecting and interpreting data

- Middle Schoolers organize fundraisers such as Pink Day, Candy Cane Grams, and Middle School dances to benefit those in need.
